Nassau County Sports Commission : To create a healthy sports environment that advances the health and well being of Nassau County youth. Description: The Nassau County Sports Commission is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization that focuses on health education and community recognition. Community programming includes distribution of educational material on topics such as childhood obesity prevention, positive sportsmanship and the perils of performance enhancing drugs. Throughout the year, the NCSC will also conduct

seminars focusing on these hot button issues. Fitness Trail construction in our Nassau County parks and equipment granting are other health related programming made available by the NCSC. The Sports Commission is Nassau County’s leading source of sports recognition highlighted by our annual awards dinner which features the Nassau County Sports Hall of Fame and many other awards highlighting our community’s elite athletes of all ages. All of our community programming is supported by generous contributions from individual supporters and corporate sponsors. The Nassau County Sports Commission has endorsed Miles Ahead Network’s Team Sports and Athletics Program. All Nassau County athletic departments and leagues please select the NASSAU COUNTY SPORTS COMMISSION as the charity of choice when purchasing all of your athletic apparel, team uniforms and sports equipment so that your purchases will help us to provide and fund additional scholarships and special athletic programs for Nassau County youth.
